Looking back, looking forwards: Happy new year from Orfi Media
The New Year is here, and of course that means back to work across the country, including for the Orfi Media team.
And now that we’ve had a week to get our feet back under our desks, we want to take a moment to look back, and to look forwards.
Back at the successes of 2018, Orfi Media’s first year of business.
Forward to 2019, a year that we hope will bring more excitement, more innovation and more opportunities to tell your stories with purpose.
_2018: BABY STEPS FOR A NEW VENTURE
Establishing a start-up digital agency is no joke, take it from us!
We learnt so many lessons from our inaugural year – some good, some bad, but all valuable.
Of course, the most valuable thing of all is the people that you meet on your journey, and we’ve met some crackers.
Through our new connections we’ve found our first clients, and some of the projects we’ve worked on in 2018 have been the epitome of jumping in at the deep end.
Our video and branding work for health food providers Lean Lunch will hold a proud position in our portfolio for a long time to come, regardless of the ghosts of clients yet to come.
And of course our work to launch Britain’s newest and most ambitious professional basketball team London City Royals helped us to learn skills in areas we hadn’t even considered when we first launched our agency back in January, and leaves happy memories of seeing the boys debut in kits designed by the Orfi team.
All in all, we weren’t sure how to set goals or expectations at the start of 2018, and it was such a rollercoaster it’s hard to judge it in retrospect too.
But what we do know is that we’ve got an appetite for this now, and we’re hungry for more.
_2019: BIG THINGS TO COME
But while we may not have known what to demand of ourselves starting 2018, this year we have much higher expectations.
In fact, we’re not scared to say that 2019 will be the year when Orfi Media begins to make waves.
One of the biggest lessons we learnt was that you have to feel passionately about the clients you take on and work with. If you don’t get that warm feeling about their business, how do you expect to create content and branding that will excite audiences with no incentive to engage?
To that end we’re doubling down on a principle we established before we even launched.
We wanted to establish our niche as the sports, fitness and health industries. In 2019, we’ll be narrowing that down even further and really focussing on the matters that mean something to us.
And that’s already paying off. We’re cooking up some deals and speaking to some potential clients that will prove to be complete gamechangers.
